An supportive person helps others or lets them know they're not alone.
When we talk about being supportive, it usually means being there for someone who's going through a tough time. We might say something like "My friend was really stressed out with work and exams, but his parents were super supportive" to mean that they listened, gave advice, and helped in any way they could. It can also be as simple as just being present and not judging them for their struggles. Sometimes we use the word in a more general sense too - like when a government or an organization is supportive of a certain cause or group of people.
Providing support.
Example: I had a very supportive coach who helped me.
