A squeaky sound is a high-pitched noise that's often loud and annoying.

When something is squeaky, it makes this noise when you move or touch it. For example, if your chair creaks, but also has a little bit of a squeak, you know what I mean. It might be because the joints are worn out or the material is thin in some places. A squeaky door can drive people crazy! Sometimes we use the word "squeaky" to describe something that's not even making a noise, but is very old or has been used for so long that it needs fixing – like an old bike with squeaky brakes.

We also sometimes call someone who talks too much a "squeaky wheel", which means they're always complaining and trying to get attention.
