A sibling is someone who is related to you by birth or adoption and has one or more parents in common with you.
When we talk about siblings, it usually refers to brothers and sisters. You might have heard people say, "I'm an only child" which means they don't have any siblings. But if someone says, "My sibling is going to be late," we can assume they're talking about their brother or sister. Some families use more creative terms like "bro-dic," a mix of brother and sidekick, but sibling is the most common way to refer to people who share parents with you.
A person who shares a parent; one's brother or sister who one shares a parent with.
Example: None of my siblings are married yet.
