A scam is when someone tricks or deceives another person out of money or something valuable.

When we talk about scams, we often think about people who try to cheat others online. For example, a scammer might send an email that looks like it's from your bank, but really they're trying to get you to give them your login information so they can steal your money. Sometimes scams happen in person too - someone might offer you a deal that seems too good to be true, and then try to take advantage of you when you least expect it.

How common is "scam"?
