A salesman is someone who tries to sell things to people for a company or an organization.

Imagine walking into a car dealership and talking to one of the guys who shows you around different models. He's trying to convince you that this particular car is the best fit for you, right? That's basically what a salesman does - they present products or services in a way that makes them appealing to customers, with the goal of making a sale. They might work at a retail store, on a sales floor, or even over the phone. Salesmen often have to be good communicators and know their product inside out, so they can answer any questions you might have and make the sale happen.
