Perspiration is the process of sweating, when your body produces liquid to cool itself down.

When we get hot or exert ourselves, our bodies start producing sweat. This can happen anywhere, but it's especially common on parts of the body that have lots of sweat glands like your face, underarms, and hands. Sometimes people also use the word "sweat" to describe perspiration, but technically, they're a bit different - sweat is what comes out of your pores, while perspiration is the overall process.

How common is "perspiration"?

Word perspiration is considered rare in modern English.
It appears most frequently in fiction texts and less often in other writings.
