An attitude or perspective that someone shows towards life and challenges.
Mentality is one of those words that gets used a lot in everyday conversations. When we talk about someone's mentality, we usually mean how they think and feel about things. Are they positive and optimistic? Do they get nervous easily? Can they handle stress and pressure? We might say something like "She has a strong mentality" to mean she's tough and resilient. Or "He needs to work on his mentality" if he's struggling with anxiety or self-doubt. It's also common for people to talk about their team's mentality in sports - how they approach games and deal with wins and losses. In all these cases, we're looking at someone's mental state and how it affects what they do.
A mindset; a way of thinking; a set of beliefs.
Example: Before he can succeed, he will have to shed the mentality that he can get by without hard work.
