When ice or snow turns into liquid water due to rising temperature, that's called melting.

Melting is often used when talking about things that change from solid to liquid because of heat. You might hear someone say "The snow on the mountain is melting quickly" and they're referring to how fast it's turning into water. Imagine you leave a popsicle outside on a warm day - it starts to melt and eventually disappears. That's the same idea with ice cream, like when it melts in your cone as you eat it.
