A joystick is a control stick used to navigate or play games.
You've probably seen a joystick before - it's that long stick with buttons on it that people use to control planes, cars, or characters in video games. It's usually connected to a machine, like a flight simulator or an arcade game, and you move the stick to make your virtual vehicle go up, down, left, right, forward, or backward. Some joysticks also have buttons that you press to perform special actions, like shooting missiles or jumping over obstacles.
A mechanical control device consisting of a handgrip mounted on a base or pedestal and typically having one or more buttons, used to control an aircraft, computer, or other equipment.
