An itch is a tiny irritation or burning feeling that makes your skin want to scratch.

When someone says they have an itch, it usually means they're uncomfortable and want to scratch the spot, like their arm or behind their knee. You might hear them say things like "I've got an itch on my elbow" or "Stop scratching me, you'll make yourself itch!" People often get itches when they have bug bites or minor skin irritations, but sometimes they just seem to appear out of nowhere.
