An intern is someone who works for a company or organization temporarily as part of their education or training. They're usually students or young professionals looking to gain experience.
When people talk about interns, they often mean students who are doing internships during summer breaks or semester-long programs. These internships can be unpaid, but many companies offer stipends or scholarships to help out. Interns do real work, like projects and tasks assigned by their supervisors, and they're expected to learn as much as possible from the experience. Some interns even get hired full-time after they finish their degrees!
