A habit is a regular behavior or activity that you do often.
You know how some people always get coffee in the morning? That's a habit for them. Or maybe you have a friend who always checks their phone as soon as they wake up - that's probably a habit too! When we talk about someone having good habits, like brushing their teeth every day or exercising regularly, it means those are things they do almost automatically because they've been doing them for so long. It's not something they have to think about too much anymore.
How common is "habit"?
Word habit is considered uncommon in modern English. It has a balanced usage among all categories: speech, fiction, newspapers and academic texts.
