A financier is someone who provides money for business ventures or investments.

Think about someone like a wealthy businessman. He might have millions of dollars to put into different projects and ideas that could potentially earn even more money. This person, called a financier, would use their own funds or borrow from others to help make these projects happen. They're not necessarily the ones doing the work themselves but rather providing the necessary cash to get things off the ground.
