A fiancé or fiancée is someone who is engaged to get married. They've said yes to their partner and are preparing for the big day.

When people talk about being engaged, they often mention their fiancé or fiancée. This means that if your friend says "I'm getting married soon" and mentions their partner's name, you might know that this person is their fiancé. Being called a fiancé can also mean that someone is the partner of the person who is about to get married - for example, when a woman introduces her man as her fiancé at a party or dinner.
