fearless

An fearless person is someone who isn't afraid to take risks or do things that might be scary. They're brave and confident.

You hear this word used when talking about people who do daring things, like explorers who venture into uncharted territories. For example, "The fearless astronaut stepped out of the spaceship and onto Mars." You also use it to describe someone who stands up for what they believe in, even if others disagree. A politician might be called fearless if she's willing to speak her mind on a difficult issue. Sometimes people are described as fearless because they're not afraid to try new things or take on challenges that others wouldn't dare attempt.
