A conduit is an underground or hidden passage that allows water or other liquids to flow from one place to another.

The word "conduit" can refer to a physical pipe or tube, but it's also used more broadly to describe a channel for something to happen or move through. For example, if you're in a team working on a project and someone is acting as a middleman between different departments, that person could be called the conduit for information. They might help get things done by facilitating communication and making sure everyone knows what's going on. A politician can also be a conduit for public opinion to reach decision-makers.
