breastfeed

Breastfeed is when a mother gives her baby milk from her own body. This way of feeding babies has been around for centuries and many mothers choose to do it.

Breastfeeding, or breastfeeding on demand, is what happens when a new mom nurses her baby whenever he's hungry, which can be as often as every hour or so in the early days. When a baby latches onto his mother's nipple, she feels a tingling sensation that signals the body to release milk. Over time, babies learn to eat solid foods and eventually stop nursing, but for many families, breastfeeding is an important bonding experience and a natural way to feed their little ones.
