A boyfriend is a guy that someone is romantically involved with.

When we talk about boyfriends, it's usually referring to a person who is in a serious relationship or dating. It doesn't necessarily mean he's the one you're going to spend the rest of your life with – just that you two are exclusive and pretty close. People might say "I have a boyfriend" if they've been seeing someone for a while, but not necessarily married or engaged. You might hear it in conversations about plans for the weekend, like "My boyfriend is coming over tonight," or when friends ask about your social life, such as "Do you have a boyfriend?" It's also used to describe people of all ages – even teenagers can say they have a boyfriend!
