An object that's been heated inside an oven until it's cooked through is baked. You can think of baking as cooking food slowly and gently.

When people say something has been baked, they usually mean it's a type of food like bread or cake that's been made in the oven. But if you're talking about a dish from a restaurant, "baked" might also describe how the chef prepared it - for example, if you order salmon with a side of vegetables and they were all cooked together inside the oven, they could be described as baked.
