An audible sound is one that we can hear.
When talking about sports or games, people often say something was "audible" to describe when a referee's whistle or other sounds are loud enough for everyone on the field or court to hear. For example, if you're watching a soccer game and the referee blows their whistle loudly to signal a foul, that sound is audible to all players and spectators. In music, an instrument might be considered audible when it's turned up high enough so its notes can be clearly heard.
The act of or an instance of changing the play at the line of scrimmage by yelling out a new one.
Example: The audible changed the play to a run.
